Black Harlequin Painting Big Green Harlequin Painting Big

I decided a while back that I needed to come up with some sort of label for the silhouette figures that I do. I’ve been working with them a very long time and have a couple that are actually tattooed on me.

These long and lithe figures are my harlequins: the precocious clowns of theatre. They may tend to be a bit skinny, but they are intended to convey motion and emotion as simply as possible. After all, they are only stick figures. They just happen to be my version.

I have heard so many times in my life “Oh, you are so lucky that you can paint! I can only draw stick figures!” Well, I choose not to underestimate the value of the “stick figure,” after all, look what it can do!

I’ve also started something new.  A compilation of all of the influences that have passed through my life from childhood until now.  I have no title for this series, but it leaves more than enough room for exploration of a multitude of themes.

This is a detail shot of The Gray Lady. The piece shall bee fully complete by Halloween.

I’m very excited about this new series!

I have about a dozen of these currently “In Progress,”  each with it’s own theme, such as a season, or Holiday, or, as in the case of the one below, confection!

I actually just finished the painting pictured above, but my camera SUCKS, so I don’t have any pics yet.
But please keep an eye out as hopefully I will have new pictures up soon(as soon as my friend with the good camera gets back in touch with me, that is ;>)!
